IMPORTANT ***2016 BROADS AWARDS***

Postby TudorRose » Thu Sep 08, 2016 4:33 pm

It is with deep regret that we have decided to cancel the 2016 Broads Awards.

Due to the ongoing ill health of all three of us we have reached the conclusion that it is not viable for us to attempt to stage this year’s ceremony.

2016 would have seen the Broads Awards in its 9th year so this is not a decision taken lightly and we would certainly like to see the annual awards continue even if it means we are not at the helm.

If anyone feels they have the ability and time to take on the future Broads Awards then we would be happy to offer advice and help in any way we can. It may be a little late to save the 2016 event, although it could be moved to later in the year with a good organisational team.

If as an individual or group you would like to take on the Broads Awards then please contact me by PM as soon as possible in order that I may inform our current sponsors of the situation.
We All came here on different ships, but we're in the same boat now!

That is incredibly sad but fully understandable to people that know the amount of work you 3 have endured for the past 9 years, however , the health of all 3 of you is much more important than the event and I for one would love to see you all fit and well again soon. Thank you all for all the incredible amount of work you have all done to make the awards such a success it has become.

The awards may be back on although under different "management". The original planned awards ceremony is now off with the possibility of a smaller low key event at a different venue.
I will let you know when I know more myself

Hello Hank,

I am sorry regarding the awards may not be carrying on in its previous manner, as already stated all of your heath is more important than the event its self.

After several mis-diagnosis it seems Sue will make a better recovery than was expected. Sue currently can walk again though, not very far, but still suffers a lot of pain in her legs and arms. Although we won't be presenting the awards we have already paid for the rooms at Sutton so intend to be around that week/weekend and hope to see as many of you as we can.
